My Story
Where I started
My parents realized at an early age that I had trouble focusing in school. They tried and failed a lot of different things to help with my attention before they found a chess instructor named Mr. Caine. He taught me focus and planning all within a chess board. I owe so much of who I am to those lessons and Mr. Caines patience for me.
My Growing Passion
Those lessons made me believe in the impact of chess. So, I stayed with it throughout my childhood until I was ready to teach it on my own. I started by teaching my piers, and I have fond memories staying up late at night having discussions about chess strategy.
Making Chess My Career
During college I started teaching chess online. It was just a seasonal job at first, but I ended up staying with that company for 4 years. After I graduated, I took the next step into teaching chess in classrooms all over Austin as well as adjudicating tournaments. It was the most rewarding job I have ever had. Shout out to my manager cammy.
Chess Key
With the skill set I've gathered I decided to design my own lessons for my students and build my own service. I give it my all to make these lessons fun while being productive. I hope you'll give these me a try!
